no judgement offered here, but just an observation

this stretched out scarlet>fire notwithstanding, there seem to be some good vibes at this show.... brent sounds like he's feelin it.....

but focus on jerry:

SET I: TLEO, peggy-o, candyman, don't ease (and really, this is a group effort, no?... not really a jerry feature... or is it just that people needed to help out so much on this version?)....ok so that's 3 (3.5) songs, all ballads, and don't ease, a light hearted blues romp with BOBBY CARRYING MAJOR LOAD......

SET II: scarlet>fire, terrapin, black peter.... ok 3 more songs. yes all Epic (in proportion) .......ok and and the opening jam has some element of IT, but really... i hear GROPING IN THE DARK..... (or is that just a touch of grey?....)

sorry mates, i DL'd this show on the strength of this post, and whether it was on a DP or not.... i hear someone stuggling to make chords on their axe. and there were other great shows from this year and the subsequent ones, but someone was.... a little high for this show.... and in a LETHARGIC kind of way, NOT LYSERGIC.....

RATING: performance: 2 stars; sound: 4 stars

I think we will just have to disagree on this one.

I'm listening to this show now on gdradio.net and I'm afraid I can not agree to disagree - with the exception of Easy to Love You (a tune I simply can't listen to) the show is really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really sssssswwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttt!!!!!

Granted the tempo is relaxed - but didn't the boys earn some relaxed shows amidst a pretty effing hot fall '79 run.

Then again, what the hell do I know!!

I think it is a very awesome Grateful Dead(heroin) show. I love Jerr's vocals on Jack Straw and all the rest. The whole show is excellent, but what the hell do I know. Everyday you discover or re-discover a new show. I love this place.
Who do you like in the SB? I want the Giants to kick Pats ass. Probably won't happen but you never know.
